Now, I know that the pull down notification center only works while you're "inside" the phone. But I have yet to quite see the pattern of when the notifications will appear on the locks screen. First you get the mini pop up which you can swipe on the lock screen and then randomly seems to coalesce into a little list of several notifications--but there doesn't seem to be a reliable pattern. Could someone also clarify since I am perhaps a bit confused (and to make sure that my mind inst playing tricks on me)--do lock screen notifications only appear if the incoming notification happens while the phone is locked? In other words, say you get a text while you're on Safari which you choose not to open so the notification remains in the drop down menu, yet if you lock the phone it will not appear in the lock screen? The reason I mention that my mind may be playing tricks on me, is because I think I have seen some of these notifications appear on the lock screen as well even if they didnt happen while locked. Also...when do these sliding notifications in the lock screen become the list?

Perhaps it's my fault for not "getting" the system right away--so just seeking some clarification as to how this all works.

Thanks

They will initially show up as a pop-up. If you let the phone go back to sleep or if another notification comes in, they will go into the list format.

They will only show up when the phone is locked and they will go away for good once you unlock the phone.
