Some things i have come across on the interent struck my eye.....those things are the Apptapp and all the 3rd part apps. Well i wanted to know and for someone to let me know if this is a good idea and wuts the percentage of it not working when i do it haha. I also wanted to know if i should wait till apple comes out wth their own software to prevent this if their is going to be?? Let me know thanks a lot!!

1. Apple will Officially release the iPhone for 3rd Party software in Feburary with their SDK for the iPhone.

2. Installer is a very friendly tool if you wish to personalize and add not yet existant application to your iPhone. The downside is that you have to be careful and be fully aware that doing this is at your own personal risk. You may mess up your phone which may be fixed with a simple restore or REALLY mess it up which implies "bricking" it.

However, the payoff is quite good. Just be sure to know all your information (Firmware, baseband, bootloader) before proceeding to do anything. Use the proper tools and use guides(like the ones in these forums) to do the job.

3. PERCENT OF SUCCESS 90% many people struggle because they skip/ommit steps or because they didn't get their facts about their phones/tools needed straight.

Alright sounds great....do we know alot about this SDK yet, will this 3rd party app allow us to do man things??

Yeah i was loooking on here for the guides and the main one was that nullriver site, right??

One more last queastion if u could before doing this....people say that the old versions of this are alot better then the 3.1 is this right?? and is that the only thing that needs to be installed is that bc i hear about this jailbreak thing also.

1. The SDK (Software Development Kit) will allow anyone to create any applications (anyone other than Apple) for the iPhone.

2. Yes, Nullriver is the site for you to get jailbroken. However, with the new 1.1.2 update you need to first downgrade to 1.1.1 to use Nullriver (look for the guides for this downgrade, there are plenty here in MacRumors).

3. Installer is the only thing needed to install other things to your iPhone. I believe its 3.0 Installer the recent one (unless I am mistaken or a recent update to installer happenned).

Hope this helped

alright soundss great....yeahh im just confusedd on the jailbreakme thing, where u actaully go online on ur iphone and download it...is that the way too goo?? or nullriverr...im getting confused btw the 2

You go on Safari in you iPhone to:

www.jailbreakme.com

Click install AppInstaller and as soon as that the TIFF exploit will crash Safari and you will start seeing the progress of the jailbreak. Easy as that.

but do u need to do that nullriver thing and also this jailbreak me also!?
