So I'm looking at buying some ram for my Macbook Pro 2.16 Core 2, but I'm a little confused on what the best option would be.

The first issue is whether I should go for 3gb or 2gb with dual channel, anyone have experience?

If I do go for 2gb dual channel, can I simply add a second 1gb module? Or do I need to buy a 2x1gb kit that says "matched"?

Lastily is OWC a good place to get it? I'm more concerned about quality than price.

Thanks

OWC is good, so is Data Memory Systems.

You can add a 1 Gb module to an existing 1 Gb module, if they have the same number of memory chips, you have a reasonable chance of them matching for Dual channel although there is no guarantee they will.

If you are using any heavy programs like Photoshop, digital Audio and digital Video production, then the advantage of 3 Gb outweighs the loss of Dual channel.
