I tried to search for this, but didnt have much luck with any new updates.

Since I'm on a Unibody Macbook, the last time I jailbroke my phone, I had to go through a whole process with developer software, etc. to get the computer to recnogize DFU mode and be able to jailbreak. I'm about ready to upgrade to 3.0 and re-jailbreak, but I didnt see anything on the developer blog about still needing to do this prior step to jailbreak on a Mac.

Can anyone tell me if this still needs to be done, if so, where I can I re-find instructions (dont see it on dev-blog) and if it only affected Pwnagetool or QuickPwn? I'm not partial to either software as Im not real familiar with the difference, I just need to know if I *need* to use one or the other and if I still need to do the "fix" for my computer. Thanks

Update your mac to 10.5.7 and all will be fine. 10.5.6 has a small USB bug in the kext and using soem 10.5.5 kexs seems to be a work around at the time.

You don't need one or the other, just choose either redsn0w or PwnageTool. There's no QuickPwn for 3.0. :)

Thank you bytethese. I wasnt aware that this had been fixed in 10.5.7 of which I already have. I'm now jailbroken again with 3.0!
