Confused with iPhone

Hey everyone, I just got my iPhone yesterday and i'm a little confused. My question is there anyway to install third party apps without jailbreaking your iPhone?

Figures... I don't want to jailbreak because i'm very afraid of bricking my iPhone. I did it with my psp and that wasn't a very fun time for me =p Thanks

I hear that. The iPhone SDK doesn't come out until end of Jan/early Feb, and that's when you'll start seeing native apps being built for it.
