I currently have a 2022 M2 MacBook Air. It's great - but I'm nothing it slowing now I'm editing more 4k and 6k stuff. It still does things super well but I'm seeing a little slowdown. I shoot and video and photos as my main income stream.

I'm looking at the 14" M3 MPB but I've not really got my head around the various configs and what would be the 'best' update from my M2.

If I was looking at the M3 Max but then get a little bamboozled with the RAM/ chip options.. I know not always more is better in terms of what I'll gain in relation to the expense.

So I'm assuming the 14" M3 max would be the best option - and then 14 or 16 cores? I suspect the 16 cores is overkill ? BUT the 16 core comes with 48gb memory as standard with +£200 for 96gb - whereas the 14 core has a base of 36gb with a large +£800 to to go 96

so doesn't it make sense to go for the 16 core with is +£300 and then add the £200 for the 96gb memory if there's even a need for that much?

BRAIN FRIED - HELP!
