If I am posting this question in the wrong place I apologize in advance. I am on my last nerve with the problem I have.

“Amazon Congratulation Pop Up”

This pop up happens mainly when I go to ESPN.com but it also has popped up on other sites including this one.

I have tried others suggestions of deleting history & cookies. I have went into Settings>Safari> and cleared History & Website Data and I went a step further Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data and cleared it also. I have tried resetting & rebooting to no avail. Can someone please tell me how to make this pop up go away?

I have a iPhone 6 using IOS 11.2.5

I am including a snapshot of the pop up.

Thanks
[doublepost=1518957744][/doublepost]I too have had this pop up. The only way I was able to get rid of it was to delete the app (which was Google) and then reload it.

It’s just a safari dialogue pop up. It’s not real malware. If you close the safari tab that it’s in or clear safari cache it’ll go away. It’s not a serious problem, just an annoyance.

Those are my steps as well that I have been taking. It’s just annoying nonetheless that it only occurs on this website that I visit.

It fXXking annoying. You have to close out the window and start over. Its especially grating when you are interested in reading an article and all of a suddenly the screen changes and your on an amazon screen. So irritating. I gladly spent $2 for the app. I'd pay 3x as much if it had a trial option and made sure it worked.

Ad guards, and the other free ones didn't work for me.

Isn't there a chance it happens due to another app that was installed? I'm sure I've read of problems with Apple App Store and "fake" trojan horse apps. Also, now we need to be concerned with crypto-mining, as a possibility.

do the following:

1. Go to settings->safari->clear history and web data
2. Go to Settings->privacy->advertising and reset identifier

Too often, I am asked, even 'required to click on links in email to do something. Then a phishing email arrives.

I cleared my iPhone’s Safari cache and upon navigating myself back to this thread I got the pop up. Ironic. I guess I need to try an ad blocker.

Other users are saying ad-blockers are not being successful in stopping the pop up. I tried all the remedies and it still continues.

I suspect we will be seeing more and more of this in the future.
There is no doubt in my mind. As stated earlier, I haven't had a pop-up on my phone in years.

I don't know why Adguard works for some and not for others, unless some don't have it configured correctly. It can even be taught to ignore new items on a page etc. If people really want to nip this kind of thing in the proverbial bud, they can use a VPN on their phone.

Omg thank god I'm not the only one getting these annoying popup ads! I'm getting them on multiple websites I visit regularly, including MR. What a pain...

How to blocks popup ads in Safari iOS. Jan. 2018
https://ios.gadgethacks.com/how-to/block-popups-safari-your-iphone-0181968/

Turn off Sync. Seems possible when deleting history and such you've got a site with a JavaScript malware/adware. And disconnect from net while deleting.
https://www.macworld.com/article/31...when-popups-block-usage-in-ios-and-macos.html

use Safari's built-in Reader mode, which is practically as good.

Which ad blocker to use?
https://www.macworld.co.uk/feature/iosapps/best-ad-blocker-for-iphone-ipad-3665858/

》 unlink Safari to your iCloud account.
Go to your Settings > Apple ID Profile > iCloud and toggle off Safari.
When you get the pop-up asking what to do with previously synced data, select Delete from iPhone/iPad.

Apple:
Some popups and ads have fake buttons that resemble the close button, so use caution if you try to close a pop-up or ad. If you're unsure, avoid interacting with the popup or ad and close the Safari window or tab.

PS: Yahoo got mentioned a number of times on Apple Community.

I have tried several (wasting money on some) but found that the best one that is still on my iPhone is free - Norton Ad Blocker

Hasn't been updated in year so iOS 11?? Also, Reviews are not favorable.

"AdGuard Pro does not only block ads in Safari. It can serve as a firewall, parental control or privacy protection tool; it can protect you from dangerous websites and simply boost your internet speed, all by providing access to custom DNS settings.

When it was a VPN it was better. I have it on my Mac and Android devices, full program. There Safari ad blocker for iOS.

That didn't fix it.

Ok sure it hasn't been updated in a year and I guess 4.5 stars is not favorable... But for this thread I wanted to say it definitely blocks these Amazon winnner redirects and all the other ads just like it.

While Purify and AdBlock are both good and worked decent if I had installed Norton Ad blocker first I would have saved $3.98... Only reason I bought AdBlock was to also block ads in games and other apps which didn't work. Also with AdBlock enabled my battery drained much faster than normal.

You know you can ge refunds on apps right?
Like if something doesn’t work I’ve gotten refunds within a day or two after purchase. I’ve done it when an app doesn’t perform correctly as described. I did it on one of the app blockers I purchased before purify.
