I think those 4.5 * ratings are bogus. All the reviews if you sort by current first are negative post iOS 11 was my only point. And those said it either did nothing or worse, interferred with web sites and did not do any ad blocking.

F-Secure, another respected name, has not upgraded their blocked either.

That didn't fix it.
It's a binary decision tree.

If I am posting this question in the wrong place I apologize in advance. I am on my last nerve with the problem I have.

“Amazon Congratulation Pop Up”

This pop up happens mainly when I go to ESPN.com but it also has popped up on other sites including this one.

I have tried others suggestions of deleting history & cookies. I have went into Settings>Safari> and cleared History & Website Data and I went a step further Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data and cleared it also. I have tried resetting & rebooting to no avail. Can someone please tell me how to make this pop up go away?

I have a iPhone 6 using IOS 11.2.5

I am including a snapshot of the pop up.

Thanks
Click it , see what you won.

Have any of you guys used the parental controls on AdGuard Pro? My daughter is getting to the age where even though she wouldn’t go looking for adult content yet, she could definitely stumble upon it.

I don’t have any big people wannabes. I did just test the adult website DNS blocker and it works. Gave a big warning and site would not load. Tried playboy. Only thing I could think of, since I don’t look at those sites. The filter also blocks sex type searches.

Yes. I do have to turn off the VPN for the BoA app. Outside of that, I haven't run into any problems with both running.

I've been running AdGuard Pro and NordVPN now with no problems for several days. Very usable - there are time sit slows down a little but I really like having that "privacy" and adblock combination. I got AdGuard Pro for my computers as well - I haven't used adblockers for years now and refused to go to certain sites - really nice being able to do that again.

Last question - Do you recommend Purify on top of the above too?

I have tried several (wasting money on some) but found that the best one that is still on my iPhone is free - Norton Ad Blocker

I like Norton. I get none of the Amazon/Walmart gift card ads popping up and my web pages are all advertisement-free. BUT I have a major gripe with it. When I’m searching on Google for an item and I click on one of the Shopping results, I get hit with the ad blocker message. I have added the googleadservices as an exception and then will still have to add the specific sites as an exception in order to click from the Shopping result link. Yet, if I just type in the link to the store site and search for the item, I have no problems. It’s annoying to the point that I just turn it off when shopping online through my iPad or iPhone.

Think I’ll try one of the others mentioned here.

You shouldn't need to run Purify on top of it all. It was running on mine because I had forgotten all about it. Adguard Pro is more powerful and advanced than Purify

There may be times when you need to restart NordVPN on your phone, because it hangs from being connected for several days on end. I notice it with PIA more on the phone than when running NordVPN. PIA has better privacy, in my opinion.

I don't mind answering questions (if I know the answer that is). We are all here to help each other and have some fun.

Ugh-It’s really getting intrusive. I rather not stop visiting this site, but I’m starting to think twice about checking in here because of this pop up.

And what’s with the massive influx of posts consisting of Asian language? It’s starting to feel a little dodgy in here!

Ya i know. I totally know what you mean. I was getting the amazon screen on wallstreet journal!!!!! On here too. And the Verge. I'm just glad I found a fix cause it drove me insane. It happened once or twice a day!

This method solved it instantly for me...

Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > swipe left on the trouble website to delete

I had tried clearing browsing history multiple times, rebooting the phone, etc, to no avail. Deleting the trouble website from “Website Data” fixed it right away. I didn’t delete any of the other websites except the one that kept having the pop-up...for me it was www.bbc.com.

FYI, my phone is iPhone 6 on iOS 11.1.1

This definitely worked for me! Another “symptom” mine had was in iOS the link in gmail takes you to a “half-way” page before actually going to a Safari page. The pop-up would also occur there. FWIW, the email was from Bored Panda.
THANK YOU!!
iPad Pro iOS 11.2.1

I was getting it on a site linked through Facebook (My Favorite Daily Things). Am trying tunandallas' fix. Hopefully it will alleviate the problem. Thanks

[doublepost=1521478227][/doublepost]This worked instantly for me as well. I just deleted all of them, since I don’t know which site originated it.

Very informative thread, as I have had the same problems when visiting AccuWeather and FOXNews apps both on my iPhone and my iPad.
Like mizdeeds above, I cleared all Website Data which seems to have helped.
I also went to Settings->privacy->advertising and clicked reset advertising identifier...but also enabled “Limit Ad Tracking” which hasn’t been mentioned before. Have others tried this?

Does anyone still got the message pop up? I just installed iOS 11.3 and so far so good. But I am not 100% sure yet, still do more testing with other pages.

Will keep you all posted.

I notice I only get them when clicking on an article in Facebook. May be just a Facebook problem. I haven’t gotten them using actual Safari.
