You gotta be kidding me.

I just purchased the Mini VGA to VGA Adapter for my iMac and an external 16:10 widescreen monitor which has the exact same resolution. Whenever this display is connected, my iMac switches to VGA mode and only offers 4:3 resolutions. This can't be it, right?

This is stupid.

No answer to this??? Did you get it working? I'm curious, b/c I had plans to connect an older LCD screen as a second screen to an iMac (when I get it)

I wouldn't do it if it was going to degrade the quality of the iMac experience.

I finally got it working with a tool called SwitchResX.
