I just bought a 42 inch LCD TV for my wall and it has the option to be connected to a PC...will my iMac be able to connect? What kind of cable will I need?

I have an intel core duo imac...i'll have to check on the input type

Odds are, your TV has at least one HDMI, DVI and of course the 2 or 3component video (RGB), your iMac should connect via the mini DVI adapter that came with your mac and of course, an appropriate length DVI cable. Or, you could go DVI to HDMI if you aren't using your HDMI for anything.

That puts you in pretty good shape, since not only can that iMac drive a second monitor, but it has both digital and analog out. It'll definitely work with your TV, you just need to find out if your TV has a VGA input (in which case you need Apple's mini-DVI to VGA adapter and a VGA cable), HDMI input (in which case you need the mini-DVI to DVI adapter and a DVI-HDMI cable), or DVI (this would be the coolest, but is not that likely; you would want a mini-DVI to DVI adapter and a DVI cable).
