I have a iMac G4 800MHz 17" Flat Panel that I would like to connect to my bedroom SDTV in order to watch movies. I already have Apple TV for the living room. I was sold an Apple Video Adapter from a Genius at the Apple Store. After reading about this on apple.com that won't work. BTW, the Apple Geniuses are 0 for 2 on helping me out with technical issues. What exactly do I need to do to get this done?

I didn't know about that, but apparently the mini-VGA port does not output to composite on this Mac. Meaning there may not be any super straightforward way to do what you want -- you would need a separate device that can convert VGA to a video signal. Which seems like a lot of trouble to go to in order to use an SDTV in 2007.
