hi i just bought that one app from the app store"air mouse" it works really really good and very helpful...but it requires my iphone and laptop to be on the same network..is it possible to make my laptop act like an access point and connect iphone directly to laptop (even when there is no internet connection) thanks

In a word, no, it is not possible. A, the app is designed for use over a home network, B, the iPhone is not allowed to make those kinds of connections. It's probably too similar to a tethering connection, which they prohibit.

actually, it is possible to create a network with your laptop, and have the iphone join it. depending on what operating system you run, there are different ways to set it up. i dont know how to set it up with a mac, and i may only have limited knowledge of how to do it in XP (i run Vista), but im sure that there are others who can chime in and help.

just to reiterate: yes, its possible, because this is how i use the "remote" application even when im not connected to the internet.

I run vista also and I have also been trying to set up my remote app to work as well without a router just my laptop by creating an ad-hoc connection but no luck.. I can get my phone to see the connection but other than connecting it I have no clue how to set it up.. You would be my new best freind if you help me.. :0) thanks!!
