If it has a DVI port, you just connect the two with a DVI cable.
If not, you need to buy a DVI -> HDMI (or whatever port it has) cable.
In essence, just find something that plugs into both, and you should be fine.
Use system preferences -> Displays to edit you display settings.

It would be to an HD ready Samsung TV.

I've got a LE26R74. It has a VGA port and a HDMI.

Your MBP should have come with a DVI to VGA adapter, correct? So if your Samsung also has VGA, buy the appropriate cable (VGA-VGA). Alternatively if you have a Syncmaster or similar model that has a DVI input, you can buy a DVI-DVI cable.

If you're not using your HDMI port for anything, you could of course get a DVI-HDMI cable...

Shouldn't be much harder than that. Afterwards you can tweak extended desktop / mirror mode prefs from your Mac.
