Connect mini to TV and Monitor???

Can the mac mini be connected to a TV to run XBMC or Plex in full screen via HDMI and connected to a monitor using thunderbolt / mini display port to use as a computer at the same time on a Thunderbolt display?

Will using it as a computer affect the running of XBMC or Plex?

Thinking of getting the new mid range mini to do this if its possible

Yes, it will work with both TV and monitor.
