I just pressed home-sleep/wake button to reset my newly jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone and now there's the 'Connect to iTunes' icon showing up??? WTF?

Can someone PLEASE help!? What did I do??

It asks me in iTunes if I'd like to 'restore' the phone??

I have the same problem, and it appears that we have to jailbreak and go through the whole process again from what I'm gathering from other people.

When I press 'restore' in iTunes it comes up with a warning that this will delete everything on the phone. I'd like to keep my text messages and contacts though!! Is that possible?

Jailbreak how? Have you done it? Can you post a link to the steps needed to do it?

I have the same problem ,when am trying to connect to itune it asks me to active my iphone .....now my iphone is useleessssss ,so am waiting for new unlocker:(

Maybe a solution!!!

First of all I'm doing this on a mac so if you have windows, it might be different. I don't know what happened, but I finally got it to NOT bring up the restore screen (itunes icon/cable) after activating it through iPhuc.

1. Deleted iTunes 7.6 (most recent version, I've been using this version through out the whole jailbreaking process)
2. Installed iTunes 7.4.2 (http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.htm)
3. Loaded up iTunes 7.4.2 (had to delete my iTunes library in my music folder for iTunes 7.4.2 to load)
4. Loaded up iNdependence 3
5. Connected my iPhone (shows up disconnected in iNdependence
6. Held the home button/sleep wake button, and then my phone went to the home screen as if it was activated then quickly shut off.
7. It returned to the apple screen where it seemed to be stuck.
8. I disconnected the iPhone from the computer
9. Held the home button/sleep wake button until the screen went blank, and then held the home button... nothing happened, didn't go to the restore screen.
10. Then I turned on the phone normally... waited patiently at the apple logo, and it magically turned on to the home screen.
11. Turned it off and turned it back on, to make sure i don't get the restore screen again, and i got back to the home screen!

Hopefully this helps, good luck!
