I have wait five times for a 10.2.x update to fix this with no luck, now I need some help

Even though this should work with no problems I have never been able to connect to my winXP machine from Jaguar. 10.2 to 10.2.3 it worked as far as mounting my PC's drive on my OSX desktop but would then disappear when I clicked it. When 10.2.4 was released it made things easier in a way since connect to server found my whole network and every machine on it showed up. However I would get as far as the workgroup name and password box and then I would get and error -5023.

I have read a lot about the more common error -36 and have tried those fixes but never any luck, I have also never experienced the -36 error.

So my question is, who is running both OS 10.2.5 and a PC with winXP SP1 and can mount the PC's drive on the mac's desktop without problems ?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Try This

I had a similar problem and this is what worked for me:

Click "Start", Connect To, Show all Connections, Right click your network connection, Click Properties, Select "General" tab, Select "Internet Protocol [TCP/IP]", Click Properties, Click "Advanced", Select "WINS" tab, Click "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP"

Save the changes and give it a shot. Maybe the image will help.

Edit,Sorry, I can't attach the image

Thanks for your suggestion, I followed the path you gave me only to find out that "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" was already enabled. So i guess thats not the problem.

Anyone eles got an idea ?
