"Connect to this iPhone" option gone

This option is gone for me ever since 15.2 or 15.3, can't remember exactly. The phone has been restored multiple times, the airpods have been resetted multiple times. However, my gf's airpods 2 have this option on her iphone, my APP have this option when connected to her iphone and when her airpods 2 are connected to my iphone, the option is still gone.

Anyone else with this problem? It's a pain to use these airpods on iphone and windows, I always have to go to bluetooth settings on windows and manually connect them.

do you have other apple devices?
it's possible the setting is hidden if you don't have other devices on your appleID that the AirPods can swap to.

they should automatically connect to the phone if that was the last thing they were paired with. that setting just handles how they behave if the last device they were connected to was your laptop, iPad or appleTV using the auto-pair that happens using your appleID.
If you pair the APPs to a non-apple device, then I don't believe that setting applies.

That fixed it. I took an old ipad out, updated to its latest ios possible, added it to my Apple ID and now my APP show that option. Thank you very much for the help.
