iPhone Connecting a jailbroken phone to iTunes?

Hi,
I'm new to the subject, and I'm wondering what will happen if I connect my iPhone 4 to iTunes after jailbreaking it with redsn0w (5.1.1)
It's just that I have some backups I wanted to insert back to the device,

Will it work fine?

I heard I need to backup SHSH and some sort of a thing that's called ApTicket,
I read a bit and it seems like ApTicket is actually the SHSH,
I backed the SHSH using TinyUmbrella, so it that enough?

Yes tiny umbrella backs up both your shsh and apticket. As far as restoring an old backup I am pretty sure that will erase your jailbreak. Normally you're supposed to restore from backup and then jailbreak. I don't restore from backups ever. I always restore as new and use AppBackup to restore my app data and iCloud for contacts, calendars, reminders, etc. there are many threads about how to restore from backup. And many users here have experience with that. I'm sure someone will chime in. But worst case, just go down the list of threads. You'll see many threads regarding restoring. This happens every time apple pushes an iOS update.

Restoring a backup is different thing than restoring firmware.

A itunes backup saves all your personal setting, pics, contacts, txts, etc. Connecting to itunes works the same after the jailbreak, can make backups an restore those backups to your phone doesnt change the jailbreak.

Also the Devs recommend to upgrade, jailbreak and than restore the backup, not the otherway around, the jailbreak on 5.1.1 uses the backup/restore functioning.

Restoring firmware in itunes or updating DOES erase your jailbreak.

TU saves the combination of your SHSH and APTicket.

Thanks for chiming in TriJet. I wasn't 100% sure that's why I made it clear to the poster. I'm glad someone with more knowledge in this area, meaning you, posted some additional information. I always thought restor from backup was in conjunction with restoring a firmware. But now that you pointed it out, it does make sense that you can put all your backed up information back onto a device without restoring the firmware.

Thanks TriJet! This is why I'm always so hesitant to start blurting out "advice". If I'm not 100% sure I will always make it clear. This is why macrumors is the best overall jailbreak forum. I always learn something new everyday! I'll still continue down my path of using a combination of iCloud and AppBackup, but at least when others ask, I can inform them that restoring a backup will not reinstall their firmware. So thanks for that!
