Connecting additional monitors to Mac Pro

Hi, wondering if anyone can help us out.

I work in a graphic design studio and we all use Mac Pros with a single screen at the moment but have acquired some extra HP monitors that we would like to connect so we can use two screens at once.

However we are struggle to find a way to connect the new screens as they do not have HDMI ports (which was my initial response). The new monitors have a single port for the blue ended cable (the one with the two screws, not sure what they're called!) and our Mac Pros have a single HDMI port which currently has an adapter for the screens we are currently using.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You'll need to provide some more information.

- which model of Mac Pro? apple menu / about this mac / system report (could be system profiler). We are interested in the Model Identifier field. Will be MacPro x,y.

- also in system report / scroll down to graphics / display adapters and tell us what type of video card(s) you're running.

- post a picture or more thorough description of the available cable - sounds like VGA. How many pins, the shape of the connector... but it's almost certainly VGA.

If you have Mac Pro 5,1 or earlier, let us know what type of graphics card(s) are installed and we'll be able to provide an exact recommendation.

Don't expect sterling image quality. VGA is limited in resolution, refresh rate, and image quality. Modern monitors with VGA only are going to be special purpose or built to a price. Plus there's now an adapter in the chain (a consideration / deal breaker for some).
