Is it possible to use your scart-reliant DVR with a new iMac and possibly games consoles such as the wii and 360 too. I want to sell my TV to get some money towards the iMac. I know buying some converters will be necessary but it's the viewing of the shows, in OS X, from the DVR that's confusing me.

By DVR I mean a box that lets you record, pause and rewind live TV.

Thanks.

You would have to buy something like the Elgato EyeTV attachment, which is a USB based tv tuner. This costs in the neighborhood of $ 150. By itself, there's no way to get video into an iMac - there is no video in port. For games, you might have trouble with latency on the transfer.

What about a dvi to composite type cable to connect it?
