Connecting from behind a web proxy server?

I'm trying to link Outlook from work to MobileMe, but I can't log in since I'm behind a proxy server. Logging in to MobileMe web services works fine, but I can't use Outlook for email/calendaring/contacts.

Any ideas how I might circumvent this, short of dealing with IT folks?

I have the same issue ... I would love to see a solution. I did a wireshark trace, but did not see anything that screamed what the problem might be.

Windows MobileMe Preferences does not like HTTP Proxies

Last night, I tried connecting from my work laptop from my home network. It worked. This morning, I tried again after I had connected to my work network via VPN and it fails.

Based on this, I conclude that the Windows MobileMe sync tool will not connect through an HTTP proxy. So it is basically useless!!!
