Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but here it goes...

Im soon (next few days) going to get an xbox 360 and hook it up to my imac via eyetv hybrid.

I use wifi for my imac and would have to use wifi for the xbox if its going next to my computer, but could i save the wireless adapter cost and just plug an ethernet cable from the xbox into my imac and have the imac work as a router?

Not sure if this is a dumb question, just trying to cut costs.
Also, if anyone has any tips on playing xbox on a mac via eyetv hybrid, im all ears!

thanks to everyone :D

What is stopping you from plugging your xbox straight into your router via ethernet?

It can be done easily enough in Windows through ICS (internet connection sharing). Not sure if there is an OSX equivalent. Try searching for things like OSX ICS, Mac ICS, Mac internet connection sharing, etc.

Edit: Yep, should be simple. Check this out: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh336.html

Apple Online Help said:
If your computer is connected to the Internet, you can share its connection with other computers on your local network....

1. Open System Preferences, click Sharing, and then click Internet.

2. Choose a network port from the "Share your connection from" pop-up menu.

3. Select "Built-in Ethernet" or AirPort depending on which computers will share your Internet connection.
If you have turned on the firewall on the Firewall pane of Sharing preferences, you also need to turn on Personal Web Sharing on the Services pane of Sharing preferences in order to share your Internet connection and allow computers connected to your Internet connection to browse the web.

Gotta love modern technology :)

I have almost that exact setup, however the xbox is connected to a different screen. you need to enable internet sharing on the imac then mess with the network settings on the 360 until it connects, heres a few useful links.
