Hi,

Thanks for all the previous help.

I have a few year old iMac desktop.
And, a very small Apple Keyboard that I think, but am not sure, bought with
the desktop.

No model number on it, surprisingly. Ivory color.
It's quite small, and has no numeric pd on the right, as the many Logitech ones have.
Keys are essentially squarish.

Has a cable going out the back that connects to the back of the desktop unit.
Not USB; but has the small connector that I think is called a Lightning Connector.

Question:

With this keyboard, is it possible to do away with the cable, and connect as Bluetooth ?

Thanks,
Bob

I have a Logitech one attached to my old iMac and it works great! Although it has a small USB dongle for the wireless so it's not Bluetooth directly.

A photo will get your question answered quicker, I guess.
But, for the record, if the cable for your keyboard is a USB-A to lightning, same as the charging cable for old-model iphones, then there is a great chance your keyboard is a bluetooth keyboard.
However, as it is old, the rechargeable battery has aged and can't hold its power for a long time, leading to the use of cable.

It sounds like a lightning connector that might be used to plug the keyboard into an iPad?
(I've never owned an iPad nor any device with a lightning connector)

I'm wondering if an adapter like this might work?

But... the price is high.

You might do better to just pick up a used USB keyboard instead...
