That depends on what type of inputs your tube has.
Mini DisplayPort to HDMI converter maybe.
Wow, you can easily mark the thread for the mods rather than posting just to make that point if you feel so strongly...
To answer the question, monoprice has mini display port to HDMI cables for under $10, but VGA might be clearer on your TV. You've really got to try it out.
My experience w/ a Samsung LED TV is that OSX looks like crap without adjusting some TV settings. Windows 7 actually looks fantastic. OSX seems to have some trouble on TV's.
I have my mini connected to a Sharp. You can get either DVI or MDP to HDMI cables/adaptors/whatever and then connect analog audio seperately, or you can get a monoprice DVI+Optical Audio to HDMI converter. Both are simple solutions.

My 46" Sharp Aquos has a full DVI-I port on it. I was able to run a DVI-D cable to the Apple Mini DisplayPort adapter to connect my wife's MacBook to the TV.
The picture looks great! Just make sure you have scaling set to pixel-by-pixel as stretched and zoomed modes chop off the dock and menu bar.
I highly recommend going with a HDMI to DVI-D adapter to a Mini DisplayPort adapter if it is one of the Sharp models that only has VGA for PC input.
If you get an HDMI to DVI adapter, make sure it is DVI-D! A DVI-I adapter will not fit on the end of the Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter due to the additional pins that carry analog signal.

You don't need 2 adapters, mono price sells a direct mini DP to HDMI cable. It works great.
