connecting mbp to 20" cinema monitor

i was curious how i go about setting my monitor up to have my dock and hd on it instead of my mbp. If I can get any settings tips that would be great.

i was curious how i go about setting my monitor up to have my dock and hd on it instead of my mbp. If I can get any settings tips that would be great.

System Preferences -> Displays -> Arrangment

then drag the little white bar (the menu bar) from the top of the picture of your MBP display onto the other one (which symbolises your external display)
