Hey all, I've seen some posts up on here about connecting a MB to a TV. I have an HDTV with HDMI connectivity, VGA, SVideo.

What would be the best cords to buy to ensure best quality?

Also, what's a good place to buy these cords?

Thanks!

HDMI. Just keep in mind that since you are connecting to the DVI-out on your MB, you wont have sound going to the TV. Just something to be mindful of. But I do it all the time w/my MBP & 32" HD TV to see how video I'm editing looks full screen.

I already have a sound cord, so that's not an issue.

I'm going to be using this for a SlingBox that is not connected to an HD source, so will using a DVI to HDMI cord really make that much difference?

Is there anywhere else to get the cords, for cheaper perhaps????

The mini-DVI to DVI, no. This is an Apple product that usually doesn't go on sale.
The DVI to HDMI has a wide variety of lengths and quality. The price range is about $10 to $2000 depending on what you want.

How long is the $2000 one, like 50 miles?

Where can I get one that's of high quality for a reasonable price. About 3 feet in length.

mini DVI-VGA will use the whole screen at a lower resolution, mini DVI - HDMI might not (DVI-HDMI on my Mac Mini didn't use up the whole screen, annoyingly)

What is the resolution you get on your screen ? Where do you get black lines (top and bottom, or on the sides ?).

Have you tried to adjust the parameters of your HDTV for this source ?
