I have just recieved my new iMac and I want to transfer files from my MBP to the iMac using firewire.
I have read a thread on this subject but can not find it.
Is it possible and how do I go about this?

thx,
I am trying to open your link but it is taking a while.
So can I connect the two macs via firewire cable?
I read somewhere that you have to startup the MBP pressing a certain button.
If the two macs are switcht on and then connectiing them via firewire cable is that posible and then just drag/drop the files?

Yeah, Apple Support page is being slow for some reason. I think you mean Target Disk Mode, then the MBP's HD will show up on iMac's desktop and you can just drag and drop files.
