Hello all-

I just bought a cheap (crappy) PC Laptop for my wife to use to browse the internet and so we can take along on vacations.

I am trying to connect to the internet via my iMac's WiFi but cannot get it to work. I can be connected "on teh laptop" to my iMac's WiFi but the connection stops me from getting online.

I can grab another connection of someone else's wifi but i want to use mine.

Not sure the proper steps to doing this.
Can anyone help me out?

iMac - Leopard
Laptop - Toshiba using Windows Vista BASIC.

Thanks in advance.

Wait, are you trying to simply login to your own WiFi network? Or do you have Internet Sharing turned on, on your iMac, and you are trying to connect to that?

I have tried both and been unsuccessful.

Basically, All I want to do is connect to the Internet and connect to my iTunes on teh iMac (which holds all my music) and be able to use/play that library on the PC.

I am so lost when it comes to Networks. Oh and I have a Cable modem that plugs into the iMac.

thanks for the help.

OK. as an update, i am able to connect to the internet on the PC (laptop). i am not sure about anything else, doesn't seem like I can find any folders, etc. i just downloaded itunes and safari for Windows. maybe i can see if i can share music/libraries.

So you don't have a router at all? That explains not being able to connect to the internet. As for using "Internet Sharing" I don't know what the problem could be. You should have that setup with Share: Ethernet, and Computers using Airport.
