I plan to get a 24 inch iMac -- the lowest version which has only 2 Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports.
I use a trackball Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball Mouse – Wired USB Ergonomic Mouse for Computers, that has a USB A cable. I like wired, no need to charge, etc.

I bought this QGeeM adapter to use with my M1 MacBook Air (which will be for sale after I set up the iMac and transfer everything. My eyes will be appreciative if the larger screen!) Will it work with the ports on the iMac so I can connect the Track Ball and my printer? If not can you recommend what I should buy to connect those two devices to the iMac?
USB C Hub HDMI Adapter,QGeeM 7 in 1 Type C Hub to HDMI 4k,3 USB 3.0 Ports,100W Power Delivery,SD/TF Card Readers Compatible with MacBook Pro 13/15

Thank you.

Not to jack reeney's timely thread but any other rec's for another mini hub w/ 3-5 USB 3.0 ports, Anker or Belkin perhaps?

"Peripheral" question here: I had a MacBook Air and had a Hyperdrive hub attached to it to which I connected a small Samsung TV via HDMI cable as a second monitor. I now have the new 24" iMac, and so I bought Apple's USB-C/AVI connector (which has HDMI, USB ports) to connect the monitor and it will not show up (as if the monitor is not connected). I then moved it to the Thunderbolt ports and it just flickers constantly (albeit unlike the USB-C connection which appeared not to recognize it). Is it that I am using the wrong adapter, and perhaps need a Thunderbolt-HDMI cable (as if USB-C is not fast enough)?

Browsing apple.com for storage offered via Apple, the drives I might be interested in such as the G-Technology 10TB G-DRIVE USB-C External Hard Drive do not show as compatible with the new M1 iMac 24". The Compatibility list shows a list of compatible mac/ipads, but not the M1 iMac (nor the M1 macbooks). What's the tech reason? Or is it a marketing thing?

I use a $80 USB-C hub because I need: SD, SD Mini, HDMI, USB-C PD passthru, and 3 USB-A ports.

It has gigabit Ethernet so it will save you from paying extra $30 on the power supply brick upgrade for the base iMac...

Do you need an SD card reader included?
neg. Snake, primarily a min. of 4 USB C's + a gigabit ethernet & something relatively small.
