Hey guys!

I have a iPad mini 2 and I'm having problems with my wifi. I can see and connect to my 2.4 ghz network but I cannot see my 5ghz network. My laptop can see and connect to the 5 ghz network but my iPad mini cannot. Any possible fixes? I'm using a dlink dual band DIR 815 router.

Thanks!

What version of the iPad mini do you have. I have several iPads and some of the older models will see my 5 GHz WiFi but can't reliably connect at that speed, so the connection is refused, even older iPads don't support a 5 GHz connection at all. On my newer iPads, no problems.

EDIT: Sorry, you did say the device model already (iPad mini 2), I should have read more carefully.
That model dose have a dual-band WiFi radio so it should be supported. Understand however that the 5GHz signal is weaker, and if the radio can’t negotiate a stable connection with an error error rate within the allowable threshold, the connection will be denied.
