Hello,

When I go to system preferences > Sharing it says:

Other computers on your local subnet can access your computer at MYNAME.local.

It used to be I can access it via a number (a ip adress?) but now it has change   .

Can anyone tell me a way to get that number back so I can access my computer from anywhere.

Thanks.

P.S. That number also appeared if I check the Personal Web Sharing on. But now it reads:

View this computer’s website at http://my-name/ or your personal website at http://my-name/~myaccount/

:( Thanks for any help.

I go to Go > Connect to server and type my ip adress and I get:

Connection Failed

I even try:

myip/myusername
myip/~myusername

I want to see if it will work because I want to be able to connect from my laptop to my main computer when I am not home.
