I always use WiFi though I'm trying to connect to an ethernet port for faster data, though it is not recognizing it. I turned the WiFi off, I went to Network settings and it shows no ethernet is not connected with status cable unplugged. Are there any settings that I might try here under Configure IPv4 OR should it just be plug and play?

Thanks

Is the wifi part of the router or separate box? If separate, might try running the cable from the modem to the wifi into the Mac and see if working.

And if one unit, might try a different port on the modem to see if maybe that is the problem.
