Hi...

I have an external drive attached to my Apple TV with all my movies (obviously using ATVFlash). I was wondering if there is any way to connect to this drive wirelessly from my MBP to copy new files to the external drive. Currently I have to unplug the drive every time I want to add new files.

Thank in advance..

Good question.

The only thing that comes to mind is that this would need to be done through ATV Flash. It would have to allow something like the Airdisk facility on the Time Capsule.

A work around might be if your external has two USB outs. You plug one into the ATV and the other into an airport express?

I think you can enable AFP by copying a specific file to the ATV. However, this specific file is only found on the disk image of the original 1.0 ATV software, which you will have to find somewhere.
Google for "Apple TV" and "enable AFP", and you can probably find a guide somewhere (possibly at the ATVFlash forums, I think I found it here a year ago or so).

Pretty good question. Im looking for the same answer. I also have to unplugged my EHDD everytime i want to transfer new movies from my iMac to the EHDD
Anyone has a GREAT answer?
