Hallo guys, iam full tíme ipad user - connecting to my studio monitor and doing all my stuff (excel, word, etc )

For few applications (microsoft access, crypto apps etc) i would like to buy some mini pc, which will be connected via cable to my wifi router) something like this Mini PC. .

Iam connecting sometimes to my work computer through microsfot remote desktop and its fine. Much better than anydesk.

Can you give me advice which remote desktop SW is fastest and best for this situation ? Should i install windows 11 or windows server to pc ? thanks.

I use splashtop to Manage Remote access of both my PC and my Mac. My PC runs windows 10. Depending on your software, I don’t Think you need windows server (expensive for OS license, VERY EXPENSIVE, and software charge for server OS also tend to be VERY EXPENSIVE). windows 11 is more than enough.

Dunno if your studio monitor can also be used by PC as a display. If so, you can connect PC to it, configure it, and then remote access to it later on. Microsoft RDP is free but I have no experience using it.

I have tried virtually everything. The best is Jump Desktop. Somewhat distant seconds are Teamviewer and Splashtop (depending on your priorities). The others I wouldn't even bother, not Microsoft RDP nor Anydesk.

I use Splashtop as well and it is a very robust and cost-effective solution. A Windows 11 Pro PC would be fine, and I see no need for Windows Server if all you need is to access this computer remotely.

Another happy Jump user here - multiple iPads and Windows devices.

Jump Desktop, and it's not even close.

Single purchase, no subscriptions. They have their own protocol that is more resilient against network instability and does 60fps. Works great.

I've been using this setup as a software engineer for work for almost a year now: a powerful desktop PC at home, my 11" iPad Pro as a thin client I take with me to the office. Best of both worlds.

I purchased jump. Guys i have little bit struggle with jump desktop. Iam at beta ipad OS so maybe thats problem but when connecting through ipad to my windows desktops , text is blurry, i tried lot of different configuration. What is strange, i just zoom little bit then text is sharp. When i run jump desktop et external monitor (stage manager) text is completely sharp.

Might be an issue with the Beta - I don't see this connecting to 4 different Windows devices with different resolutions.

Sounds to me like your Windows machine is defaulting to some low resolution when you put Jump on your iPad screen, as it is trying to pick the closest matching aspect ratio.

Make sure to create a custom resolution on your Windows machine that precisely matches the iPad's display.
Also check that you have enabled Retina resolution in the top right settings panel in Jump when you connect.

If you run Windows 11 Pro, you can enable RDP and use the free Microsoft RDP app to connect.
