i have recently changed jobs which requires me to connect to my company's terminal server, so that i can work from home.

i downloaded, Remote Desktop Connection, and i was amazed how simple it was to install. but the one thing that i noticed was that it runs extremely slow. is this because i am using a macbook pro, or is it because the TS is slow. i have a blazing fast internet connection, so i canceled that out.

any suggestions?

How fast is "blazing fast"? And what is your Internet connection at work like? What is the ping time from your machine to your work's Internet gateway address? How much RAM do you have in the machine? Does it seem faster if you access it from the LAN in at work?

i have 10/mbps cable modem service at my home.

the internet connection at work is fast, but it seems slightly slower than my connection at home. however, i am the only internet user at my house, so that might be why it seems faster.

i dont know what the ping time is. how can i check???

i have the latest 15" mbp, 2.33ghz with 2gb ram.

yes, it is still slow when i connect to the TS while im at work.

Reply from 10.3.10.16: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=251

I connect just fine to terminal server boxes on my Mac. I'd say the speed of RDP is equivalent on OS X as it is on a XP box. The RDP client for XP has some more features but speed has never been a problem IMO.
