I have the current 802.11ac AEBS that I'm using for wifi in my home. All three ethernet ports are occupied but I have two other computers that I'd like to connect by ethernet cable. My old 802.11n AEBS is collecting dust so I wonder if I can connect its WAN port to one of the 3 AEBS-ac LAN ports and thus use the 3 AEBS-n ports for ethernet (i.e., net gain of 2 ethernet ports). Possible? I'd rather not use the AEBS-n as a wireless extender - I prefer to connect the two base stations by ethernet cable to ensure the most robust connection.

TIA.

Sure, no problem, provided you:
  • On the second AEBS, set the Router Mode to Off (Bridge Mode) on the Network Tab.
  • If you don't want the WiFi on the second AEBS, set the Network Mode to Off on the Wireless Tab.
  • Connect a Cat 5 cable from a LAN port on AEBS1 to the WAN port on AEBS2. Connect additional hosts to the LAN ports on the AEBS2.
