iPod Connecting your iPod to your stereo...

Which is better: connecting via, say, a Monster cable leading from your headphone outlet to the stereo, or from the USB base connector to the stereo?

There are also some cheaper versions of this available on Ebay but I'm not sure if these knockoffs are any good or not.

I use a cable 3.5mm to RCA cable; and don't buy Monster cables; they are overpriced and they don't improve anything.
