Oh man.
I'm using a powerbook G4 that is about two and a half years-old now. Unfortunately, while searching, my problem is eclipsed by an issue that the new intel macs have with connection dropping, which oddly enough sounds very similar to mine.
This started about a month or two ago. My connection stays at about half strength, and every ten minutes or so it will drop and usually reconnects almost immediately. For some reason, moving the laptop around a bit will usually facilitate reconnecting.
I've tried switching routers--the problem persists. Although, for what it's worth, I have a linksys wrt54g v3, with dd-wrt v.23 SP1 RC3 firmware.
It may be worth noting that running bittorrent will slow my web browsing or downloading down, where is used to have no effect on that.
At this point I'm concerned that my wireless card may just be dying (airport extreme).
