consider switching back to mba, need some advice

guys,
i've had a mba rev b when it was first released, but i returned it due to the short battery life. however, after half year with my unibody macbook 13.3, i'm missing mba more and more and think of switching back.

portability is really a big deal for me. even when i stay home, i constantly need to move from room to room. and i really find macbook too heavy for me, especially when holding it with single hand.

the main concern regarding mba is the battery life, i'm wondering if it has been improved since rev b, and also the charging time, i've had very bad experience to full charge the rev b, took me almost 4-5 hours. another little concern is that does mba support all the finger gestures currently supported by macbook pro?

2GB ram isn't a big issue for me, although i'm a heavy multi-taskers (mostly just safari, itunes & msn, uTorrent open at the same time), i rarely do any heavy task such as video encoding or apertures.

Well according to apple.com the MBA gets 5 hours of battery, which is the same as uMB.
I have the poly macbook which is heavier then the uMB if I recall and I can carry it fine with one hand. I wouldn't consider it heavy.
Maybe you just miss having a sleek, sexy notebook and if the MBA suits your needs switch back.

At the end of the day its down to you, however the uMB is more versatile and maybe in the future you might fancy upgrading to 4GB ram, which you can't do on the MBA.

thanks. it really hurts my wrist when i hold it from one side and the screen is open up. it doesn't really feel heavy if i just carry it around when it is closed though.

The battery was upgraded in the rev C MacBook Air, although it seems it was only a slight upgrade. (From 37 to 40) Honestly the MacBook Air is a great computer and I haven't noticed the 2GB of RAM in it to cause any problems except when I am working on several Photoshop documents at once.

Yes, the MacBook Air supports all the same finger gestures. As for the battery again, you could always get an external battery for the times that you need some more life in your computer. HyperMac makes a decent batter, their cheapest battery ($200) weighs less than a pound and would give you 12 hours of battery life.

The new battery charges a lot faster. I am getting a true 3:45 minutes now. When I turn the display brightness to three, I get over 4:15. It really seems a lot better than my rev B 1.86/SSD MBA.

The MBA is truly amazing even without the extras we all wanted in an update.

thanks scott. just wondering if you were just surfing the internet to get 4 hour battery. did u play itunes or any apps that suck more cpu power?
