My last three iPhones have been the Pro Max series and there is no way I could go back to a smaller screen. Glad I got my 14PM at launch as it is looking like next year if ordered today. China is closing the factory due to Covid again so who knows.
I do not believe that the IPHONE factory has or is going to be “closed”.. they are at reduced capacity, but still operating in a closed loop with current employees, which is apparently down about 5%. Things could certainly change, but closed is not the current state or at least the expected future state. My last three iPhones have been the Pro Max series and there is no way I could go back to a smaller screen. The 8+ is going end of life (EOL) probably next year.I'm having trouble justifying "upgrading" from the 8 Plus. Mine is still going strong, with a relatively new battery at 99 percent.
The 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max were sold out but I lucked out on a brand new 13 Pro Max Alpine Green 256 GB from Freedom for a great price. Coming from the SE 2020, I'm a happy camper.I think 14 Plus is a sign of future pattern with Apple where the previous year Pro Max is passed down to the more affordable line. It just so happens that this is the year where it's starting to look very obvious, so there's overlap.
At the moment, it's very easy in Toronto, and I suspect many other cities, to get a brand new 13 Pro Max from 3rd party retailers. Best Buy, carriers, etc still have plenty of them. When these are gone, then yes, the 14 Plus will be the default. And the 13 Pro Max will be a rare smart buy, if you can find them.

True. Enjoy and jump on the 15 next year. Happy Thanksgiving!Next year is not now.
It's a good point, I think anyone having this device should certainly do the ~$39 battery replacement done by apple to help it last through the next 10-12 months and/or serve as a solid replacement/travel device. I'm down to about %78 battery capability at this point, which works for me but still i'd like to get back to what, five years ago now usability? The 8+ is going end of life (EOL) probably next year.
funny having so much free time with thanksgiving holiday watching tv shoes (housewives of Salt Lake City) almost all Bravo shows, showing non pro models!? Thought these people were millionaires? Looks to be just regular 14 or plus or 13 models.. lol
Yes exactly!Wealth doesn’t always translate to preference in mobile phones I suppose. I know very few people who buy Pro model iPhones despite having the disposable income to afford them. I could have got a 14 Pro this year but had a personal threshold for what I wanted to spend. Everyone is different.
PreachYes exactly!
I too can afford the 14PM with gazillion GB of storage, but I don't need all those features.
Love my 14 Plus just the way it was designed - for me!
I got my plus for $400 so yeah I’m feeling good. It’s a great phone. The battery lasts me 2 days. I’m not a hardcore phone nerd who needs the latest and greatest every year though. You make a good point about the bigger price difference outside of US. At $300 less I would probably go with the Plus as well.

Back in September my upgrade was due and I opted for a new 13 Pro on contract and my wife bought the 13 Pro Max which we ended up swapping after a week. The cost was the same as the 14 Plus but unfortunately that device was released some weeks later and I didn't want to wait. Its a great phone though and gives the user a big screen for around £250 cheaper than a 14 Pro Max. In my circles its a good mix of iPhones and Androids (used to be nearly all iPhone) but most are standard non-Pro devices and I think this is a reflection of how expensive mobile phones are getting but also how good mid-tier devices are. The fact of the matter is you don't have to buy a Pro iPhone to get a capable phone these days. I know some on this forum think our mobile phones portray an image of wealth and success, but the reality is this couldn't be further from the truth.Yes exactly!

I personally haven't had any problems carrying around a 14 Pro Max at all. I think that might depend on the depth of the person's pockets and their clothing though. The issue I do have with it though is the overall weight and feel in hand. A swap out to another specific clear case I have on it, makes the device much more manageable though.Yup. None of my comments or evaluations have anything to do with money. I could buy the top of the line iPhone every year, outright, with max storage, etc. Doesn't matter. A phone that's too fat, heavy, and uncomfortable is too fat, heavy, and uncomfortable, period. I'm not sure who's carrying around these fat forking phones in their pockets, but I feel sorry for them! (Maybe Apple is pushing its users toward the forthcoming iPhone Backpack!)
I bought an SE earlier this year and am looking forward to transitioning to that when my 8 Plus starts feeling old, which is not yet.
I wanted all the features, especially camera related, and hence I bought the PM.Yes exactly!

Yeah, that's exactly why I think the "value proposition" really goes both ways depending on the person.
Yeah what someone thinks is a benefit, another will be less compelled. Whether you’ve got a 14 Plus or a 14 Pro Max, you can rest assured you’ve got a very capable iPhone in 2022.
This is exactly why I bought my Dad the SE 2022. Even outside these choices, it's still got A15 for longevity of support and he doesn't want an iPhone without a home button.
