I saw both these phones for the first time yesterday, and by God is the Pro and Pro Max ugly! Those 'gigantic' rear cameras just look an utter design mess!

No way, I picked up the 14 Plus and it was like picking up air next to the Pro Max, it's bigger body made it feel lighter then the standard 14. So for me I'm going to wait for the 15 Plus as it's rumoured to get that island at the top. Design wise looking it's a lot less ugly and usability wise it's better due to its lighter weight, the 14 Plus was a clear winner. I may even give in and just get the 14 Plus anyway.

Everyone's different but that's my opinion.

As for the wealth thing, I see more standard sized iPhones, wether they are normal or Pro models, than any other model. Especially amongst women they seem to mostly have standard none Pro 6.1" iPhones no matter how rich they are.
I think I just need a bigger screen.
I would not be surprised if the notch made another year so the DI may still only be on the Pro models next year. But waiting a year then getting a 14 Plus at a healthy discount might be the way to go.

That is a thought I've got. But I'll see. I find my XR screen a bit cramped these days, especially the keyboard hence the desire for a bigger screen. I think a lighter phone helps make up for having that bigger screen.

Based on how Apple is changing their sales strategy recently - holding onto current Mac products instead of coming out with newer models plus the fact that iPhone sales are not as good as before - we may end up getting a minor upgrade in the future.

Instead of an iPhone 15, we may see an iPhone 14s....

I personally haven't had any problems carrying around a 14 Pro Max at all. I think that might depend on the depth of the person's pockets and their clothing though. The issue I do have with it though is the overall weight and feel in hand. A swap out to another specific clear case I have on it, makes the device much more manageable though.

While the 14 Plus is somewhat lighter than the 14 Pro Max and definitely noticeable, we aren't talking worlds of difference here. It's like approx. 1.3 ounces lighter, not like this is a one pound or more discrepancy lol.

I purchased and set up an SE 2022 for my Father though (he wouldn't compromise on the home button) and gotta say -- that did feel amazing in the hand. Such a sleek little device with a lot of power.
1.3 ounces is a lot for a handheld device actually. Its not the same as weightlifting.

That's exactly why I said it's a noticeable difference, just not "worlds of a difference", but I'm sure it depends on the person's perception. Another poster here believes it's a big difference, so I'm sure it depends. I still find the difference between the 13/14 Pro to the 13/14 Pro Max to be the bigger jump due to both the weight, phone and screen size leap combined.

The comical thing about this is I've heard of people taking the 14 Plus and putting it in some Otterbox Defender case. That is likely going to be a bigger weight discrepancy than a lighter case with either a 13 or 14 Pro Max.

I also don't own a 14 Plus to review it, so my opinion might change on the weight. I did mention previously I was curious about it cause of the weight difference. I'm just pointing out what I did, because people are making the 13/14 Pro Max out to be some heavy tank practically vs. some super light item lol.

I always opt for 2 year contracts. I’m keeping the phone that long so don’t see the big deal.

The only big deal I could see is like with that most common T-Mobile deal one is you are forced into 24 months with their most expensive tier of the unlimited plan (Magenta Max). If someone was going to do that anyway though, I could see that not being too bad. My friend though for example, was locked into a previous promo though and didn't want his bill going up $50/mo to take the offer.

I’d never opt for an expensive plan, always shop around for deals but prefer a 2 year contract to spread the cost. I could buy outright and get a sim only plan but I don’t want to pay a huge sum out in one go.

I’ve used tmobile for years and been happy so it’s not an issue for me.
Yea I've had them all at some time and didn't have any major issues. The only reason I went from ATT to VZW years ago is because there was zero coverage in a place I went often.

Same here I moved from AT&T to T-Mobile for the same reason. AT&T decided to abandon the tower a half mile from my place build a new tower 5 miles and suddenly in a dead zone. T-Mobile took the tower and is using to day. The other thing was I also save 45% on my bill moving to T-Mobile

Yup. Today's best iPhones for usability are the 14 Plus and the SE, the latter being so cute and wonderful to hold!

I'm going to have to upgrade my phone sooner I think, because with iOS 16 my XR is just constantly reloading everything like it's a past time! Every webpage, app, You Tube. It's a bit ridiculous.

How much ram does the 14 Plus have?

No. I'm using an 8 Plus and everything is fine. Change your battery, perhaps. Waste of money to upgrade your phone.

the weight difference can't be underestimated tho.. and for the pics, I showed a few folks blinded photos in the family and most preferred those coming from the 14 plus, it produces a more vibrant photo..
The worst part is that the 14 Plus (and 14) got the 13 PM’s cameras (without the awful, but nice-to-have telephoto). It’s great, but obviously if you spent the $$$ for the PM because the PM’s cameras are better than the regular line, you may feel irked.

If I had a 13 PM, I’d consider trading it for the 14 Plus. 😂 You wouldn’t lose as much on the trade-in due to the lower RRP of the 14 Plus.

I think that money has nothing to do with the phone owned. Some will go with a cracked iphone 8 while buying $300 hats and $2000 handbags.
Other people might be a millionaire but drive tried and true 24 year old toyota camry.
Other people buy the latest and greatest tech, but commute by subway and don't obsess over the clothes.
I even saw a woman in a new Nissan for $20K scraping 9 bucks from 3 credit cards to buy a pack of cigarettes.
We are all built different.

As someone who recently upgraded to a 13 Pro Max and considered the 14 Plus as an option, I’m not sure why anybody would trade the 13 Pro Max as I couldn’t see any benefits. In fact for me the benefits were on the older device but I suppose everybody has different perceptions.

Because it's lighter weight, which seems to be, by far, the most common complaint of the 13 and 14 PMs over the "regular" versions.

If you’re weight sensitive then that makes sense. I’ll be honest I haven’t looked into the weight differences. The 13PM is a hefty device but I try and carry it in coat pockets as much as I can. Size is more of an issue for me as the thing is cumbersome as hell.

I’ve got the 14 PM and 14 Plus (from work). The 14 Plus is definitely easier to use because it’s significantly lighter. However I couldn’t sacrifice the extra benefits the PM has over the Plus.
