I've been an Android user since March 2018 when i bought my first phone the Galaxy s8. I've been looking into the Note 20 ultra or the I Phone 12 pro max. I'm wanting a good to great phone for all types of photo and video. I use my phone as a tablet also, like big screens. I think if the Notes camera and video were / was compatible with the 12 pro max I'd get it. Anyone have any experience with both?, at the price of 45.00 for 12 pro max and 55.00 for Note I'm not sure if an extra 10.00 a month is worth it. Need a little advise, I guess I'm more of a Galaxy man, but I could be swayed to the dark side if the iPhones camera and video are way better. Appreciate non biased advise , Thanks!

They - Samsung and Apple - use very different colour profiles for their cameras, among many other factors.

Both of them produce excellent photos, but if you’re used to, and prefer, the slightly over saturated nature of a Samsung camera, you’d possibly be disappointed with the more natural colouring of the iPhones.

It’s a very personal choice in that respect, I like the more natural colouring of iPhones, as I tend to have a little less editing to do with them.

But really, the only way you can know for yourself, is to have a look at some of the many photos available, from many different websites.

Don’t even bother reading what they have to say about them, often opinions will be biased one way or the other, which is of no use to anyone. Just go straight to the images, download them and compare them offline. Whichever images YOU prefer, well, that’s the one to go for if a camera is your primary decision factor.

If you're more comfortable with Android I'd say get the Samsung as you won't like the closed garden Apple offers as far as customization is concerned.. Each device has it's strengths and weaknesses when it comes to camera performance and of course the Note has the S-pen which may or may not interest you.. Both devices are flagship devices so the hardware is excellent on both.. Software is the biggest difference between the two

I have both. The Note 20 Ultra's screen is way more vivid and just looks sharper to me. Both great devices but in all honesty the Note is a better phone in almost every aspect. The 120hz display of the Note makes the iPhone feel like 10 year old technology. This is just my opinion so take it as you will.

I have both and I'm looking to sell the Note after getting the 12 pro max, if that tells you anything.

The Note is a very capable device with tons of features and if you're a diehard android/Samsung fan, I think you'll be happy with it. However if camera is your main selling point, I'd say go with the iPhone. Almost every shot I take comes out good and everyone I show the videos I've taken on it to can't believe they came from a phone camera.

The Note's camera is good IF your subject is sitting still in ideal lighting, or if you're shooting video on a gimbal. I bought it on launch day just for the camera, but I was pretty disappointed with it. Most shots come out grainy or blurry and shutter speed is very slow. I could never get a clear picture of my kid to save my life, if he moved the slightest bit it was blur city. Pics of pets looked like watercolors cause the camera tries to smooth their fur. Skin is smoothed to uncanny valley levels as well. You can use pro mode to get better pics, but if I wanted to stage scenes and fiddle with settings before every shot, I'll just get out my DSLR. You can take cool 50x zoom shots of the moon though.

My 20 yr old and 17 yr old daughters each have the i phone 11 regular. They love the system of ios alot more than what android gave them, yet they only had Motorola G6 phones so it's a huge step forward. I'm wanting nice screen to excellent for watching video and using internet. I've always loved photography and want the best photo and video phone possible. Ive talked with those who went from samsung to iphone and they really like the screen for videos, most don't see much difference.

I have both phones the Note 20 Ultra and the 12 Pro Max.

They both have their own pros and cons as all phones do. I think they both take excellent photos as well. The thing the Note 20 Ultra has over the 12 Pro Max is the zoom! The zoom is insane.

I like each phone for different reasons. I switch back and forth between them as I can't just use one!

A negative for the Samsung is that the photos come out highly saturated and unnatural. They may be more pleasing to the eye to some people but i prefer the iPhones natural looking images. I also hate how Samsungs selfies try and smooth your skin.

I might be a little late to the party but I have now used my iPhone 12PRO Max for a week after being forced over from a Note 20 Ultra. Right off the bat, I will tell you this... I miss my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra... But that's not because I of a missing function, it's because I have been an Android user for 10+ years with an occasional apple itch thrown in.

I originally hated how 'dumb' iPhone's felt when using iOS. Something like copy and past seemed so much 'easier' (read; clunky) on Android. However, I am starting to realize this "dumb" feeling I had is actually intuitive and makes things much more seamless- one of my biggest gripes on Android.

I will say, without a doubt, I miss Android gestures. Being able to swipe back from the left or right side of the screen was awesome with One Hand Operation+ app. Scrolling up and diagonal from the left or right allowed me to get my recent apps with ease. Notification and quick launch are by far (IMO) better on Android, but I can see how most appreciate the iOS version.

The APP store is what MAKES iOS amazing. Nothing can compare, I don't care what others say.

As many have said it really comes down to personal preference. I haven't seen a significant difference in photos, but I wasn't a huge photo taker/selfie kinda person, to begin with. I rarely used the S-Pen, but when I did it was convenient to have. At this point, it is still too early to same I am a convert but I have a new appreciation for iOS.
