Hey folks,

I had a 6-core, 1TB/64GB Mac Pro 2013 for a while, which I sold. I then settled for using my 2015 13" Macbook Pro (3.1GHz i7/16GB/512GB). However, it's helluva slow for working with moderately large images in On1 Raw 2018, especially for exporting.

Does anyone know - based upon knowledge of the gen 8 CPUs, etc. - whether the hexacore i7 in the Mini will be a significant improvement over the dual core i7 in my laptop, and whether it might approach or even improve upon the performance I got from that Mac Pro?

I wouldn't hesitate on the Mini if it were a touch cheaper, but specced out similar to my old Mac Pro (which admittedly I bought used) it's about evens - excluding the RAM, which I'd buy third-party.

Disclaimer: I'd hoped to be buying a new iMac 5K today, but I'm not sure I want to up my budget to get a comparable 5K based on the older CPU tech....

What did you buy?
Don't judge, but I had a moment of craziness and bagged a refurb iMac Pro (base spec - 8 core/32/1TB). It worked out not that much more than a fully tricked out (non-refurb as there are none available) iMac 5K. Should arrive tomorrow!
