Hi guys,

Been reporting this one for about 2 months now. Running 11.1 stable.

When hovering over the About this Mac tabs, they grey out, completely inconsistent with the rest of the OS.

Where's the OS polish? Reminds me of something on Windows. No wait, Windows 10 is pretty stable by now..

Windows 10 was released almost 2 years ago. They have had ample time and numerous revisions to polish it, and it is still like polishing a turd. 💩

I'm not sure how this "bug" could possibly be impacting your day to day. Seems like a complain for something to complain about on an OS that's been out for a couple months and only a single .1 revision that actually squashed many bugs. I guess there were more important ones to deal with.

Doesn't do it on my iMac running Big Sur 11.1. What other settings have you selected from System Preferences, General? I'm also using Dark Mode.

Well look, you're right it's not going to brick the iMac. But it IS a bug by definition. Just a weird one, that doesn't align with the rest of the OS :)

I just changed my setting to light mode and it still doesn't do it. I don't believe it's a bug but rather something that you may have done with settings. But let's see if anyone else reading this thread can duplicate what you're seeing.

Yes, I can duplicate exactly what you are seeing.

Not a bug. This is a consistent design element. This is a grey-in (for want of a better word) which appears when you hover over an enabled button. For example, go to Finder. When mouse is over list of files the buttons at the top all have a white background. Hover over one of the buttons at the top and it gets a grey background which indicates a) that it is enabled and b) the region in which a click will activate the button. When it is a group of buttons (e.g. View in Finder) the whole group is greyed-in. This is what is happening in About this Mac - the group of buttons is greyed-in whenever you hover over the group.

Mine looks the same as -BigMac-'s video

Maybe it is different for different hardware?

Don't really see the issue - so it is grey by default?

Thats awesome feedback, thanks for that..must be a design element. I replicate all those things you have stated apart from "When it is a group of buttons (e.g. View in Finder)" I can only highlight one at a time. Can you show what you mean please? :)
