Just bought a new 12.9 iPad Pro 2018. Are there any console quality games available for the iPad? I know they have some ports like GTA. What are some of the better ones? I also bought a Nimbus Steel Series controller

Not sure what you're after, but:

Life is Strange for both strong story and impressive graphics
GTA San Andreas if you're more after gameplay and less after graphics
Minecraft if you like, well, Minecraft…

This War of Mine, Deus Ex: The Fall, Bastion, Machinarium, Limbo, Leo's Fortune…

Those are some of the games that take themselves seriously and offer an actual experience.

I’ve been playing (with same controller) all the GTA games and mine craft thus far. Fun games but nothing new really. All on the 12.9 new pro.

I’ve searched the App Store a few times but all the same stuff really imo.

none are console none are optimised for the iPad Pro
That’s a worthless response. Obviously they aren’t “console” games. Just looking for suggestions of cosole like games. I know there are some out there

Cool. Thanks for a real response to my question. I appreciate it. I’ll check them out

What irritates me is that Apple takes a dig at the Xbox One saying it’s more powerful but has absolutely no games that can compare to the best graphics Xbox One can do.
Please prove me wrong and recommend a game as good as Red Dead Redemption 2.

Do PUBG and Fortnite support controller?

I heard controllers are coming for PUBG but I don't play that game, so I don't know. Fortnite definitely does not have controller support but there's a question about it coming down the road. They would have to separate out controller vs non-controller users though -- the same way they do PC vs Console lobbies (or at least the option to play on your same level vs the mouse/controller jockeys).

Other "console" games if you count 3DS would be Monster Hunter Stories, I own it for both 3DS and iOS. The World Ends with You which has a new Switch remake is also available, I play it on my Xs Max. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition (or "chibi edition", if you will) is out on both iOS and consoles. There's also Ghost Trick (DS game), several Professor Laytons, Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon: Light of Hope (which was released for a ridic $59 on Switch so I bought on iOS later instead for $15).

I'm looking at streaming my PS4 onto my iPad 11" soon using R-Play but I haven't done it yet.

If you like challenging puzzle games check out "The Witness". Note that it has NOT been updated to support the new resolution of the 11 yet. It still looks pretty and I really need to go back and finish it.

I don't disagree with you but I think a big problem is install size. RDR2 takes 90+ GB on a PS4.

One of the problems I have is that I don't really want a PS4 in my living room. It's just a pain with where our TV is mounted and the amount of space in the entertainment center. I've read that you can stream the PS4 to your ipad. So I can have the PS4 in a different room and just stream it to my ipad right? If I wanted to play it on the tv, I can just hook the ipad to the tv to mirror the display?

The Blockheads is pretty fun. I forgot if they’ve optimized the app or not though.

You're not wrong, but I think the games will (hopefully) come. IE they just demonstrated NBA 2K19 in their keynote to show the capabilities. Now the developers need to come. Which might not happen (ie Nintendo wii U).

Also whatever happened to games that used to be on IOS like deadspace, or bioshock? Don't see those anymore!
