I have two seperate itunes libraries (my desktop and laptop). I want to consolidate the libraries into one master on an external hard drive (attached to me desktop) for apple tv streaming. Anyone know how to do this?

Yes, I believe what you need is TuneRanger. It allows you to movie Itunes library's and playlists from Itunes to Itunes and from Ipod Device to Itunes. It has multiple options as far as syncing and you can even setup a server mode so it runs all the time and sync's automatically if you update your laptop for example, it could then sync to your external hard drive.

I figured it out. What you need to do is attach the computer which has the library you wish to merge to the other computer via firewire. You boot that computer in target mode so it shows up as an attached firewire hard drive on the destination computer.

You then go into itunes on the destination computer and choose import and select the library master file from the now attached firewire hard drive. It will import the references for the library, then you choose consolidate library and viola, its merged. I am still waiting for the consolidate to finish ... about 500gb of data.....

ciao... Rob
