Hey there
My UK MBP C2D is about 5 months old now, and has been rock solid until recently.
The machine has now developed an annoying habit of crashing - the screen greys out and a multilanguage message appears on screen advising me to restart the machine. This has only started occuring in the last 3-4 weeks
The odd thing is that when the machine restarts, there is a pop message telling me that 'Superdrive does not need a software update'.
OSX also informs me that there has been a serious error with my machine, but when I choose to submit a report to Apple, nothing further happens.
Another regular issue is my wireless connection dropping out. The wireless signal strength indicator remains at full strength, but no web pages load and Adium drops out. It's usually resolved by switching Airport on and off, but nevertheless, it's a pain. Note that I use a Netgear router which works successfully with all my other machines
In terms of changes to the machine - hardware or software - the only things I can think of are:
-- Apple's optional OSX updates over the last couple of months
-- An update to Firefox (I think)
Has anyone experienced anything similar with their machines? It's become so frequent (now daily) that I may have to go back to the Apple store = HELL.
Thanks
L
