I am asked to enter my password several times a month for both devices. Why?
I have stopped responding to the requests.
 
Do you have 2 factor authentication turned on? If not, that’s probably why.
Although it seems like it might be related to it all, still not quite sure why that would be connected to something like that.

Seems like there’s been a string of folks here lately being prompted to enter credentials frequently enough to bother them and they didn’t have 2FA enabled. Granted, I acknowledge I’m shooting from the hip here, since there are many variables unknown that could be causing the OP’s issue.

Right, not using 2FA seems like a something potentially related to it, just seems rather odd in terms of why that would actually be the case.
 
Settings in general woud be your passcode. Always better not to guess.
