Constant Upload Failures via Safari to iCloud Drive

I'm running Mavericks and wanted to drag about 20 PDFS into my PDF Expert 5 folder in iCloud Drive. After a few minutes only 5 uploaded and the rest said "Upload Failure." I quit Safari and tried again, something. I restarted my system and got the same thing.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I have been uploading stuff via the web a bunch and have had no timeouts. Could be a multitude of factors causing that for you, and not all of them are on Apple, necessarily.

Reading this alongside other topics … if you reuse Yosemite and if the symptom recurs, then I guess that there'll be something relevant visible in Console. But not necessarily in its view of all messages.

Also use Disk Utility to see whether the HFS Plus file system appears to be OK. And verify permissions, although (a wild guess) I doubt that it's a permission issue.

A safe boot followed by a normal boot might workaround, but if you're interested in diagnosis then I should use Console and Disk Utility first.

Thanks, but I don't think the problem is on my Mac. I attempted it from another Mac Mini in the house and it failed as well. It's either something with my home network (which doesn't make sense to me) or it's just a buggy iCloud drive.

EDIT: It fails when I use my phone's LTE hotspot too so it must just be a bug in iCloud.

EDIT: I almost gave up again, but then discovered that it's now letting me drag and drop files into the first level of my iCloud Drive (e.g. just the files with at the same level with the app folders.) I then have to manually move a file into a folder or app folder. It's annoying, but at least it works. It still won't let me drag a folder in though, it has to be document/media files.

I think I'll just stick to OneDrive with limited iCloud Drive use until Apple fine tunes it a bit more.

It was, but you were still supposed to be able to access it via iCloud.com. I was trying to use it through Safari.

Did you perform a clean installation of Mavericks (did you erase the Yosemite volume beforehand)?

Or was there an attempt to install Mavericks over Yosemite?

I have folder hierarchies in the web interface to iCloud Drive that are either invisible or only partly visible in (for example) the 'Open' dialogue offered by Preview in Mavericks.

In my case these are probably remnants from something long before Yosemite. They don't bother me, I simply (lazily, probably wrongly) assume that I should not attempt to use folders with iCloud with Mavericks.

It was a clean installation of Mavericks from a freshly whipped disk. I think it's just a buggy iCloud status.

Thanks. Recalling technologies that were used in the past, I wonder whether there's anything comparable to the 'truth database' or a 'sync services reset'.
