hello chaps,

I’m looking to construct a test bench using alu profile bars for testing the Mac Pro 4,1/5,1 logic boards. Appreciate any advice you have.

Some queries:
1. Are the standoff screws sized M3.5?
2. Is there a power extension cable available on the market? I’m looking to rest the PSU on the bottom while maintaining the Logic Board in its normal upright position.

I do it that way or with the Backplane lying flat on the table.

On this photo is the PSU fan missing, I just put it before the PSU for long term tests.

CPU Cage is not needed but help support.

If you want to do mass tests I'd butcher a bent Mac Pro case. Handling the CPU Board is very delicate not to bend pins on the backplane

Screws are 3,5 mil MP 1,1-5,1 Backplane mounting screws 922-8896

This is excellent! I’m doing mass tests - I might have overengineered my ideal setup before your reply.
